Congratulations to four couples in the RCIA program that were married at the Shrine of Saint Anne this past Saturday, February 9th. May God always bless their marriages!
The All Saints - Todos los Santos parish family would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Parochial Vicar, Father Hector Rangel!
I would like to express my gratitude to Father Mauricio, although his time with us was a short 1 ½ years, his teachings, spiritual advice and guidance was a blessing to our parish. We wish you well and continued blessings from our Lord in your priestly ministry at St. John Paul the Great Parish in Torrington.
Also, my thanks to Archbishop Leonard P. Blair for granting Father John Mariano an extension of 6 months as a parochial vicar in our parish. Father John celebrated his 75th birthday on January 29 and as required by Canon Law priests can retire from priestly responsibilities in their assigned parish but they never retire from the priesthood.
Finally, a warm welcome to Father Hector Rangel as the parochial vicar at All Saints-Todos los Santos.
Father Hector grew up in the small agricultural village of Charalá, in Northern Colombia, where he recalls a simple but fulfilling life on a small farm his father managed while his mother managed the household, education and faith development of their seven children of which Fr. Hector was fifth. He joined the Salesian Order of St. John Bosco, moving to Bogotá, where he attended Universidad Minuto de Dios, earning a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He continued his spiritual formation years with a second bachelor’s degree in Ecclesiology and a Master’s in Theology at the Jesuit Pontifical Javerian University in Bogotá.
Please keep us and all priests in your prayers as I will do the same for you.
To the Community of All Saints Parish,
It is with great pleasure and humility I can report to you that this years’ Thanksgiving Food Drive was a success. With everyone’s help we were able to service 196 Families throughout the Greater Waterbury Area with 117 of those families coming from the Waterbury Public School System. Food items that were received during the drive but not used were donated to the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Food Pantry. There were also a few turkeys that surpassed our goal and were kept in the Pastoral Center for any additional families who contacted the church looking for assistance. I would like to take a moment and acknowledge some of the ministries and organizations who made substantial donations or volunteered:
And to all the individual donors who have endlessly given of their time and talents but who refuse to receive recognition, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU.
Muchisimas Gracias y muchos Bendiciones,
Assistant Coordinator Religious Education
