The Friends of Saint Anne Restoration Committee is offering an architectural tour and history of the Shrine of Saint Anne highlighting all aspects of this majestic landmark’s Gothic Revival Design. The tour is scheduled for: Sunday, November 11, 2018 at 2:00pm.
The tour, which typically takes 75-85 minutes, involves some walking and (optional) stair climbing to the choir loft. While the focus of the tour is on the architectural history and design of this wonderful sacred space, a new portion of the tour will include information on the history of gothic revival design throughout churches in Europe. Pausing at key spots throughout the interior allows for a lively discussion about Saint Anne’s parish history, plan layout, interior details, acoustics and stained glass.
Advanced registration is required to attend the tour. Please call Mr. Ron Bouchard at 203-756-6329 with your name, the number of people attending and a phone number (in case there is a need to postpone the event).
These tours are a fundraising effort sponsored by the Friends of Saint Anne, an independent group of area citizens dedicated to the restoration of the Shrine for generations to come. A free will donation per person is suggested. All proceeds will benefit our ongoing restoration efforts.
Thank you for your generous support!
